La vista Yokosuka Kannonzaki Terrace
Hot spring bathing above the shipping lanes at Kannonzaki
About this stay
The property runs a free shuttle service, which is how most guests cover the last stretch to the Kannonzaki headland, since the Keikyu Main Line stops inland rather than at the cape and Tokyo Haneda Airport is around fifty-five kilometres away. Parking is available for anyone touring the Miura Peninsula by car. Bathing is the reason to be here: a hot spring bath, an open-air bath, a sauna and a spa and wellness centre, with a spa lounge and relaxation area between soaks and an outdoor swimming pool that looks over the water. Rooms are four-star, air-conditioned, with a private bathroom, a balcony and sea views rather than a premium view category, and beds are Western. Breakfast is a buffet with local specialities, warm dishes, cheese and fruit, and Asian options are available, while the on-site restaurant covers a range of cuisines. Table tennis, free WiFi throughout and non-smoking rooms complete it, and the Kannonzaki lighthouse path starts nearby.
- Hot spring and open-air bathing
- Sauna, spa centre and relaxation lounge
- Sea-view balcony rooms
- Buffet breakfast with local specialities
Our take
The one address in Yokosuka with genuine hot spring water, and the only one where the view is open sea rather than shipyard. Couples and families both get value here, the former from the balconies and the open-air bath, the latter from the pool and table tennis. It is a poor choice for anyone with meetings in the port or a taste for walking to dinner, because the cape has no nightlife and the shuttle sets the timetable.
- Book the free shuttle with your room, because the Keikyu line stops inland and the walk to the cape is not realistic.
- Take the open-air bath before dinner on your first evening, when the Uraga Channel traffic is still visible in daylight.
- Ask about the tattoo policy and private bathing when you reserve rather than at the bath door.
Why we love it
- Hot spring bath and open-air bath above the sea
- Outdoor swimming pool with a view over the water
- Balconies and sea views in every room
- A free shuttle from the Keikyu line inland
Why guests love itLa vista Yokosuka Kannonzaki Terrace gives families a proper short break from Tokyo: an outdoor swimming pool looking over the water, table tennis, and sea-view rooms with balconies. Parents get the hot spring bath, open-air bath and sauna once children are asleep. The cape is quiet in the evening and the free shuttle from the Keikyu line sets the rhythm of any outing, so I would plan to stay on site rather than sightsee. Guests rate it 8.3 from 92 reviews.
