Mercure Yokosuka
About this stay
The walk from the Keikyu Shioiri ticket gate takes a minute, which is the single fact that decides most bookings here. JR Yokosuka Station is about ten minutes further along the harbour, and the American naval base gate and the Yokosuka Arts Theatre are both around five. Rooms are air-conditioned, finished in neutral colours with floor-to-ceiling windows, and fitted with an LCD television carrying Japanese and international channels, a personal safe and a minibar. The bathroom is attached, with toiletries and a hairdryer. There is no communal bath, so the soak happens in the room. Reception runs twenty-four hours with safety deposit, dry cleaning and currency exchange, and vending machines cover drinks and snacks. The restaurant on the nineteenth floor serves a Japanese and Western breakfast over the bay, and bar Champs-Elysees handles the ground floor. Shops and restaurants sit immediately outside, with Dobuita Street a short walk inland.
