Our take
MERBABU STAY OSAKA is a simple two-star base in central Osaka that I would choose for its practical family rooms: a kitchenette, a washing machine, a balcony and a bathroom with a bath. Work desks, free WiFi and streaming services suit business travellers too, and a lift and luggage storage cover the basics. Do not expect hotel extras such as a restaurant, but 227 guests rate it an excellent 9.0.
- Take advantage of the kitchenette to prepare some meals, especially if you're travelling with family.
- Utilise the washing machine for longer stays to pack lighter and refresh your wardrobe.
- Explore the nearby Hongan-ji Temple Tsumura Betsuin, just a short walk from your accommodation.
