Our take
Hotel Vista Matsuyama scores an 8.7 from almost 1,300 reviews, and I can see why: an onsen on site, a breakfast buffet and a position close to Okaido Shopping Street. I would book it for a few nights in Matsuyama when walking to shops and restaurants matters, with easy access to Matsuyama Airport as a bonus. It is a well-run 3-star hotel rather than a full-service resort.
- Make sure to take advantage of the onsen for a truly relaxing experience after a day out.
- Explore Okaido Shopping Street on foot; it's just a short walk from the hotel and full of local finds.
- Consider the breakfast buffet to start your day with a mix of local and international options.
