Our take
For a family stay in Kagoshima, I would look at GANADAN Tenmonkan for its spacious family rooms with a kitchen, a dining area and a balcony, which make it feel closer to an apartment than a hotel room. A hot tub adds a relaxing extra, and Kagoshima Chuo Station is within walking distance for train arrivals. Hotel services are limited, as is usual for an aparthotel, but 225 guests rate it a solid 8.5.
- Take advantage of the kitchen facilities to prepare some meals and save on dining out.
- Use the washing machine in your room for longer stays to pack lighter.
- Plan your sightseeing around Kagoshima Chuo Station for easy access to public transport.
