Mimatsuso Ryokan
About this stay
Mimatsuso is the rare genuine ryokan in a city dominated by chain business hotels: tatami-floored washitsu rooms with futons laid out for the night, a proper break from the Western-bed default found almost everywhere else in Asahikawa. Six minutes from Heiwa dori keeps the shopping street and its ramen counters within easy reach, while the ryokan's own dining covers a simple home-style dinner without leaving the building. Free parking and free Wi-Fi are included, and it is one of the few pet-friendly stays in the city's inventory. The one-star rating reflects modesty, not neglect; this is a down-to-earth inn, not a luxury property, and the tatami-and-futon setup is the entire point.
